Central High’s ‘09 Homecoming
Dedicated to Cancer Awareness
The Central community came together in October to celebrate the lives of two local women who lost their battles with cancer this year.

The passing of Whitney Taylor, a victim of brain cancer, and
Vicki Ramsay, who died of breast cancer were noted at
October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month so the team wore
pink for the game against Walker High on October 23rd.

Pink t-shirts were sold to raise money for breast cancer research. The shirt sale was headed up by Kathy Edgens and Kathy Goudeau. Central High football helmets this season are adorned with pink ribbons.
The team is having a very good season so the homecoming event drew a larger-than-usual crowd. Many fans wore their new pink t-shirts to the game.
Coach Sid Edwards made a stirring pregame address to the
crowded grandstand and the team won 62 to 9.
The school band also was decked out in pink as were both the cheerleaders
and the flag team.
